13 Foods You Should Never Refrigerate

Done with the shopping and now thinking to just go home and put all the stuff you bought from the grocery section into your refrigerator? It is our common practice that we just want to use our fridge to store all kind of foods whether they are needed or not. Not everyone does this; but most of us will be agreeing to it. Well, there are many food items for which we get confused whether to keep them in the fridge or not. For instance butter, we store it in the fridge but when we take it out, it’s so hard to spread it on the toast. What to do now? The answer is simple, store it in the fridge and just take it out 10 to 15 minutes before the breakfast. Well, it was the story of butter and we have decided that we can store it in the fridge.

There are many other foods that are pretty much easier to decide whether to store in the fridge or not. We can say that there are some foods that can’t bear refrigeration; they either lose their flavour or the texture or sometimes get the mould.  There are the chances that you might be storing some foods mistakenly in your fridge, maybe you have listened to someone or thought yourself. Here is the list of some of the foods that you should keep on your kitchen counter (or any other place you have) instead of the refrigerator. Let’s have a look:

  1. Tomatoes

Oh no! I put them in the refrigerator, this is not right! You know what? Putting them in the fridge will not let them ripen due to which they don’t give the good flavour. Not only this, it will also change the texture of the pulp. The cold temperature causes the break down in the membranes of the walls thus bringing the change. OK, I will be keeping them on my kitchen counter.

  1. Bread

Keep the bread wrapped in the freezer so that it will lose its moisture and after thawing it you will enjoy the soft bread, toast it or make the sandwiches from it.
